Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide
The upgrading of your item is an essential component to maximizing the power of your gear. It lets you add bonus stats and bonuses on top of the value of your basic item.
Each upgrade template comes with a set of options which can be set up by using the edition GUI. These options include the upgrade reference and the upgrading chance.
Upgrade components
As part of the 2.0 update the system for upgrading armor and weapons in Cyberpunk has been reworked. Upgrade components are scattered throughout Night City. The item you wish to upgrade must also have an upgrade slot. If you select an item to upgrade it will show an overview of what the expected stats will be after upgrading, along with the necessary component or item required. If you don't have the necessary level of material or component needed to upgrade the item, then the button will say "Blocked."
The items that can be upgraded include armor and weapons and trinkets and gathering tools. The upgrade slots on all of these can be filled with different upgrades that offer bonus features or other effects while the equipment is in use. These upgrades are available through crafting, purchased from a seller, or taken as rewards.
There are item upgrading of upgrades: universal and gemstones. Universal upgrades are comparable to gems and are able to be used in any type of equipment. They provide a lower bonus than other upgrade components. They are simple to obtain because they are dropped by enemies and looted across the globe. Gems can be obtained through disassembling items or through doing specific missions.
Upgrades can be replaced with new upgrades inside a weapon's upgrade slot, but doing so will damage the previous upgrade. Other upgrades, with the exception for glyphs that can be added to gathering tools are not able to be removed from an item after they are inserted. Infusions that can be placed in ascended equipment and legendary equipment, and enrichments are only recovered using an upgrade extractor or by salvaging the item with an advanced salvage kit can be replaced once per hour.
Recycled Items
During the two World Wars, the scarcity of natural resources forced the world to recycle. Recycling aluminum paper, plastic and even paper is a common practice. They are given a new purpose. Recycling saves energy and prevents carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere. Recycling is a fantastic way of avoiding landfills and conserving natural resources. Reroll tokens

The value of the item's principal stat increases by a factor of 3 each time it is upgraded, but the value of the other stats can differ.
Click the dice icon beside the item in your inventory to roll it again. Alternately, you can click the button in a different player's lobby and select "Reroll". After rerolling the item, it will disappear from your inventory.
You can buy rerolls and other items in-game from Sagbe which is an in-game Token Shop trader. You can also earn free rerolls redeeming active codes in Fire Force Online. These codes can be used to claim various items such as Reroll Tokens and Clan Reroll Tokens.
Rerolls can be helpful at the beginning of the game, when you are attempting to build up your inventory. They are not the best method to boost your character's stats. Instead, you should concentrate on getting more skill points. You can also earn bonus points by completing event levels.
You can also change your character's race using the race reroll token which is available through the Zen Market. This token allows you to change your race at any time and is redeemable through certain pack purchases or through the Token Shop. It can also be obtained as a reward when you complete Meg's cases during the Port Sarim invasion event.
Leveling
The attributes of an item and its Power Level will rise when you level up an item as part of the upgrade process. The process of leveling is calculated by using an algorithm that determines the amount of damage, magic attack (magic weapons) and defense an upgraded item will get at the next upgrade level. The formulas vary based on the type of weapon and rarity. There is also a maximum level per kind of weapon.
When the item reaches its maximum level when it reaches its maximum level, the NPC will display an upgrade option that lets the player use the item to gain experience and upgrade it to the next level. To make the most of the benefits of this process, players must make sure their gear is fully leveled prior to trying an upgrade. However this bonus doesn't apply to the item's quality Chance which is resets once the item reaches its mark level.
The Upgrade NPC offers a service to facilitate transfers of gear. This will allow players to save their experience and upgrade progress from a piece of gear and then transfer it to a new item in the same slot. This is useful for players who want to swap out their gear but do not have enough money to buy a brand new set.
