World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. This bonus may exceed the damage that an upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also alter the stats of their base. While this is usually beneficial, it can have some negative consequences too. In the case of items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to boost their performance. For instance, if you have chests or helms this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reduce its value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain after upgrading, as well as the values of these stats. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu, using the arrows that are circling. This will reroll the item and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or bind to account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the more health you can get from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and to unlock them all, you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required for each will vary. In general, you'll need at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to withstand an entire raid with a few of your friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it for physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also gain benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades to the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades for the chest armor and helmets to allow you to sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, if consumed, give the player a temporary status effect. There are five different types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be earned through crafting them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens a GUI where you can choose the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions, for instance, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item. The table of potion now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be mixed in cauldrons. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron, it drains the potion and refills the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone. The potion table has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It may also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a function but is not particularly significant such as a trinket. In some cultures a trinket is a way to express affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Unlike other item upgrade s , trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades to trinkets are an economical alternative to buying new ones. You can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the older one, and have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Once the old Trinkets have become no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that will not be replaced in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade, players should be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1percent bonus. Re-upgrading will destroy the trinket unless it can be salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
